Actress Amala Akkineni is all set to make her re-entry into the Kollywood film industry after many years. She has played the vital role of a mother in Kanam. Recently, the Amma Song, sung by Sid Sriram, and written by Uma Devi, was also released from the movie was released and became popular instantly.
Speaking about the song, Amala said, "Amma Song was created to immortalise the love between a son and a mother. Jakes Bejoy and singer Sid Sriram have truly created magic. Listening to it for the first time, was so soothing and melodious. I felt the whole unit of the film - director Shree Karthick, DOP Sujit Sarang, the technicians, the actors — bonded together in this emotion."
"But during the shoot, we listened to it only in bits and pieces. Only now, after the song's release, I have been able to listen to the whole song - and feel it in my heart. The film evolved from the love Shree Karthick has for his beloved mother, and the song is exactly about this love. I am sure you can feel it, too. It is so very beautiful and marks the coming together of immense talent, values, hope and human love. Seetarama Sastry garu wrote such beautiful lyrics (in Telugu) and blessed us before he departed."
She added, "I feel so privileged that I could play the role of Amma in Kanam/ Oke Oka Jeevitham. I am a real-life mother and I treasure the position. During the time we were making the film, I became everyone’s Amma and that was so precious, and I shall never forget it."
She says that Karthick is very fortunate to have a wonderful producer like Prabhu, who believes in him and the film. "I hope you will enjoy watching the film as much as we enjoyed making it," said Amala Akkineni.
