Amala Akkineni made a comeback on the big screen with Sekhar Kammula's 'Life Is Beautiful' way back in 2012. As she would say later, doing the film upon Kammula's persuasion gave her a confidence that positively seeped into other aspects of her life. She was since seen in films like 'Manam' and the Bollywood movie 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani'.
Perhaps owing to strong characterization, she has accepted to do a Malayalam film. This time, it seems, she is going to play a lengthier role. She has accepted the role of a lawyer in a Mollywood film titled 'C/o Saira Banu', which is to be directed by Antony Sony. With this, she will have acted in a Malayalam film years after she shared the screen opposite Mohanlal in the 1991 psychological thriller 'Ulladakkam'. Her character's name in 'C/o Saira Banu' is Annie John Tharavadi. Manju Warrier is the lead actor.
Now that Amala is into accepting distinct roles, maybe someone from Tollywood too will approach her in near future.
