Director Manivannan's golden jubilee movie, 'Nagaraja Cholan MA MLA', popularly known to be a sequel to his yesteryear blockbuster 'Amaithipadai', was anticipated by the hawk's eyes to face hurdles at the Censor Board. But the experience turned out to be memorable, with the Censor Board having an enjoyable time at the special screening, and granted the movie a clear U certificate. There has been no cuts in the movie, but only one dialogue has been muted in a particular scene. With this happy news, the 'Amaithipadai 2' team is planning to release the movie in the first week of May, as a summer bonanza. After this movie, Manivannan is expected to direct his next film, 'Thalattu Machi Thalattu', starring his son Raghuvannan, which is set on the backdrop of college life.
