Allu Arjun’s Raaka Creates a Rare Record; Entire Shoot Continues at One Massive Mumbai Set

If there is one Telugu film making headlines for its unique production strategy, it is Allu Arjun’s Raaka. Directed by blockbuster filmmaker Atlee, the ambitious pan-India action entertainer has been shooting continuously at a single specially constructed location in Mumbai, making it one of the rare Telugu films to follow such an extensive schedule.
The film went on floors last year, and the makers built a massive custom sound stage exclusively for the project. Designed to meet the technical requirements of the Hollywood VFX teams working on the film, the elaborate set has become the primary filming location for almost the entire production.
Initially, Atlee had planned to shoot several major portions in Dubai and a few other international locations. However, those schedules were either postponed or scrapped due to the Iran conflict and the resulting logistical challenges. To ensure uninterrupted production, the team shifted its focus entirely to the specially built Mumbai studio.
The shoot is currently progressing at full pace, with Allu Arjun filming continuously over the past several months, taking only brief breaks between schedules. Deepika Padukone, who plays the female lead, has reportedly wrapped up almost all of her portions.
Backed by Sun Pictures, Raaka is one of the most anticipated Indian films currently in production. Music for the film is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, while the makers are aiming for a 2027 theatrical release, though the official release date is yet to be announced.
The ongoing schedule at the Mumbai set is expected to continue for another four months, highlighting the sheer scale and meticulous planning behind Atlee’s ambitious cinematic venture.
