It's known how much the Titli cyclone ravaged property in about twenty-five mandals across a thousand villages in Srikakulam district in October.
The affected regions have grappled with issues of drinking water. They are exposed to the risk of using contaminated groundwater. Borewells and treatment facilities have been leaky. Pawan Kalyan has intensively travelled in these areas to ascertain the magnitude of the aftermath. The Jana Sena chief has sought the help of donors in this regard.
The news is that Allu Arjun has come forward to support the rebuilding activities in a few of the villages. He has donated three RO (Reverse Osmosis) water plants and 1 bore well in 4 villages (Kondalogam, Devunalthada, Amalapadu, Polladi and Vajrakotturu in Srikakulam district).
As per a statement from the Bunny camp, villagers in these places have expressed their happiness over the Mega hero's contribution.
"It is expected that these three RO water plants and 1 borewell are installed in next 15 days and support daily drinking water needs of 2,000 to 3,000 people in and around 2-3 villages and protect their right to have good water and health. Since these areas are more prone to chronic kidney diseases due to contaminated groundwater, these RO plants would support local communities from this dreadful ailments," an official statement says.
In the past, Allu Arjun helped Kerala by donating Rs 25 lakh when it was affected by floods.
