Recently, it was reported that the Hindi dubbed version of 'Naa Peru Surya' has done remarkably well on single screens, collecting double the amount that the straight Hindi movies released since October. Dubbed versions of south Indian movies continue to rake in big figures. So much so, many exhibitors see them as the only hope till the time big-ticket Hindi movies come out.
A Livemint report says that the movies of Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Dhanush and other southern stars are dominating the scene currently. "Nearly 70% of the single screens in north Indian states such as Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and parts of Maharashtra" are trying to capitalize on the mass masala movies of these stars.
Karthi's Tamil-language film 'Kaithi', released in Telugu as 'Khaidi', is going to be dubbed in Hindi and released in theatres. So also Vishal-C Sunder's 'Action'. Dhanush's critically-acclaimed 'Asuran', which is being remade in Telugu with Venkatesh as 'Narappa', is also going to be released in Hindi.
