Vakkantham Vamsi, who got unlucky when NTR preferred Puri Jagannadh to him, has struck gold. It's by bagging a film with Allu Arjun.

He has impressed Bunny, who currently has two films lined up - with Harish Shankar ('DJ - Duvvada Jagannadham'), and N Lingusamy, a Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual.

Vamsi has previously written such films as 'Ashok', 'Athidhi', 'Kick', 'Oosaravelli', 'Yevadu', 'Race Gurram', and 'Temper'. Such a writer turning into a director has been a matter of interest to industry-wallahs. Since Vamsi has hands-on experience of writing for big-ticket movies, it was almost a given that he will debut with a big star.

The film will be produced by Lagadapati Sridhar.
