While Virat Kohli was once the highest tax paying celebrity, the King Khan Shah Rukh Khan overpowered him this year by becoming the number one highest tax paying celebrity.
Actors Allu Arjun and Mohanlal have both made it into the top 20 highest tax-payers of 2024. According to Fortune India, Allu Arjun and Mohanlal paid Rs 14 crore in taxes this year, highlighting their significant financial contributions.
Shah Rukh Khan, who is leading the list has paid the highest tax amounting to Rs 92 crore. He is followed by actor Vijay, who has paid Rs 80 crore, and Salman Khan, who has contributed Rs 75 crore. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is not far behind, with a tax contribution of Rs 71 crore.
Cricketer Virat Kohli comes in fifth with Rs 66 crore, while Ajay Devgn is sixth with Rs 42 crore. MS Dhoni and Ranbir Kapoor follow, having paid Rs 38 crore and Rs 36 crore respectively. Hrithik Roshan and Sachin Tendulkar both paid Rs 28 crore each.
Other top earners include Kapil Sharma with Rs 26 crore, Sourav Ganguly with Rs 23 crore, and Kareena Kapoor with Rs 20 crore. Shahid Kapoor and Hardik Pandya are next with Rs 14 crore and Rs 13 crore respectively, while Kiara Advani rounds out the top 20 with Rs 12 crore.
Pankaj Tripathi and Katrina Kaif each paid Rs 11 crore, and Aamir Khan and Rishabh Pant paid Es 10 crore each, placing them just outside the top 20 in 21st and 22nd positions.
In the world of cinema, Shah Rukh Khan continues to shine with a string of hits including "Pathaan," "Jawan," and "Dunki." His next film, "King," directed by Sujoy Ghosh, is highly anticipated and is rumored to feature his daughter Suhana Khan.
Vijay's new film, "GOAT," directed by Venkat Prabhu, has recently hit theatres and features a star-studded cast including Prabhudheva and Meenakshi Chaudhary.
