The great epic of Ramayana is held in high esteem by Indians. The moral and spiritual story of Lord Rama has influenced the thinking of generations down the millennia. It`s a part and parcel of the lives of ordinary Indians, finding its way into everything from our religious systems to classical as well as folk customs, traditions and conventions.
As such, it has also been adapted into mythological films and programs in cinema and on TV from time to time. When Ramanand Sagar made the popular Hindi-language soap Ramayan` a generation ago, the serial caught the imagination of a generation. Millions waited for the Sunday program so they could lose themselves in the unfolding magic.
It is to tell the story of such a revered figure of Indian culture that ace producer Allu Aravind has set out to. He is going to bankroll a prestigious project that will be made at a cost of Rs. 500 Cr. This is by far the costliest ever film based on the great epic in the annals of Indian cinema. The talk is that Ram Charan is going to essay Rama`s role in this magnum opus.
In this endeavor, Allu Aravind is going to brainstorm with some of the well-known Acharyas of our day so as to better understand the nuances of Ramayana.
The three spiritual teachers the producer is going to meet with are:
1.Sri Changanti Koteswara Rao: A household name in the Telugu States, his morally profound pravachanas` are inspiring thousands everyday to follow the path of Dharma.
2.Samavedam Shanmukha Sharma: The Advaita Vedanta exponent and founder of Rushipeetham is one of the most knowledgeable teachers of our times.
3.Garikapati Narasimha Rao: The renowned literary performer and spiritualist is known for his excellent knowledge of Telugu literature and scriptures.
4.Purnapanda Srinivas: The learned scholar with vast scriptural knowledge has been rendering yeoman services in spreading Dharma.
