Considered a close aide to the mastermind behind the Pulwama attack, the Special Cell of Delhi police on Friday arrested Sajjad Khan from near the Lajpat Nagar market.
Sajjad Khan, who was reportedly ordered to establish sleeper cells in the capital by Muddasir Khan, the mastermind behind the Pulwama attack that claimed the lives of over 40 CRPF soldiers, was pretending to be a shawl seller from Kashmir. Reports revealed that he knew of the planning and execution of the entire attack as he was in constant touch with Muddasir Khan and a Pakistan based terrorist named Yasir through an App that let them communicate with numbers not registered under their names. In an encounter that happened with the JeM terrorists on March 11, 4 terrorists, including Muddasir Khan, were killed by the security forces.
Sajjad Khan, who is currently being interrogated by the police, was wanted in an NIA case registered under section 121-(A) and 120 -(B) and UAPA Act.
