The controversy over Vijay's Sivakasi has come to an amicable end with the producer A M Rathnam accepting to remove scenes which reportedly demean advocates in Sivakasi.

It may be recalled that several cases were filed in courts in Tamil Nadu against Rathnam, director Perarasu and actor Vijay for portraying advocates as idiots in the movie.

Some lawyers even burnt Vijay's effigy in protest. Meanwhile, Vijay had issued a statement stating that he never intended to hurt the sentiments of the advocates.

When the case came up for hearing before a court in Tiruchy, Counsel for Rathnam accepted to remove the controversial portions before 29 November. The case was posted for a hearing on 2 December.

Vijay, who is known for non-controversial style, seems to have kept that record intact.
