The members of the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild have taken a drastic step in view of the ongoing issues afflicting Tollywood.
The Guild, comprising about 20 noted producers such as Dil Raju, today voluntarily decided to withhold shootings from August 1. The strike is indefinite.
The strike period will be utilized to "sit in discussions until finding workable resolutions for all the issues filmmakers are facing."
Two top issues are these: The irrationally high fees charged by stars, and the other ways of reducing production costs. The second one pertains to theatrical ticket costs in Telangana.
OTT issue: Another key issue is enforcing a gap of 10 weeks between theatrical release and OTT release.
