'Vakeel Saab' will hit the screens amid high expectations on April 9. If the teaser and most posters of the courtroom drama have indicated that the film is not a faithful remake of 'Pink' (Hindi), there is a reason. It was a conscious effort on the part of its writing team, including director Venu Sriram, to make it as a commercial film.

In his interview earlier this week, music director S Thaman said that the film is replete with commercial elements. "'Vakeel Saab' has got a number of interesting commercial elements. The stature of Pawan Kalyan garu is different from that of Amitabh Bachchan (Pink's lawyer) and Ajith (the lawyer in the Tamil remake, 'Nerkonda Parvaai'). So, remove the colour 'pink' from the Telugu remake," Thaman said.

There are going to be a lot of hero-elevation scenes and even fights. Producer Dil Raju and presenter Boney Kapoor are counting on the massive craze that Power Star enjoys. 'Vakeel Saab' has nearly Rs 90 Cr riding on it just in terms of theatricals.

Starring Nivetha Thomas, Ananya Nagella and Anjali, the film has dialogues by Thiru.
