Zoya Akhtar's 2011 film 'Zindgi Na Milegi Dobara' enjoys a special cult following. Before that, her brother, Farhan Akhtar's 'Dil Chahta Hai' enjoyed the similar status. Both the films feature three friends on a life changing road trip. It is being rumored that Farhan is planning to make a female version of ZNMD and he has Alia Bhatt in mind as the lead.

A source close to the actor revealed, "While Farhan acted in ZNMD, this time around, he will be directing this yet untitled film. It is written by him and Zoya, and though the concept of road trip remains the same, the narrative is diametrically different from what they did in the 2011 film. They have locked on the broad idea of this story through the lockdown."

Alia has reportedly shown interest in the project but nothing.is official yet. Farhan has yet to cast of two other A list actresses for the lead trio.
