Alia Bhatt, the reigning Bollywood queen, has commenced shooting for the highly anticipated spy thriller 'Alpha', marking the first female-led entry in Yash Raj Films' successful Spy Universe. The film, which also stars Sharvari Wagh in a leading role, has generated immense buzz since its announcement.

Today, a first-look photo from the sets went viral, showcasing Alia in casual attire in front of her vanity van. The image sparked a frenzy among fans eager to catch a glimpse of the actress in her action-packed avatar.

"Alpha" is directed by Shiv Rawail, known for his acclaimed work on the Netflix series "The Railway Men," inspired by the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. Alia will be playing a super-agent in the film, promising an adrenaline-pumping experience for audiences.

Earlier this week, Alia took to Instagram to announce the commencement of filming with a captivating video. The clip featured "Alpha" written on it, and Alia's voiceover stated, "Greek alphabet ka sabse pehle akshar aur hamare program ka motto. Sabse pehle, sabse tez, sabse veer. Dhyaan se dekho toh har shahar mein ek jungle hai aur har jungle mein raaj karega ek Alpha (The first alphabet of the Greek language and our motto – first, fastest and courageous. If you see, every city is a jungle and every jungle is ruled by an Alpha)."

The announcement video set the internet ablaze, with fans expressing their excitement for the film's release. Comments like "You go girlsss," "Aaagh! Screaming my aloo," and "Alreadyyy so exciteddd!!!!!” flooded the post, highlighting the immense anticipation surrounding the project.

The film's confirmation earlier this year by Yash Raj Films' CEO Akshaye Widhani further fueled the excitement. He stated, “As one of the most prized IPs, we take a lot of pride in it. So there’s a lot of stuff that’s going to come in the spy universe. We’re going to see more and more films getting made under it. But, of course, not going to share everything here. We will talk about it at a more opportune time. For now, I can say that Alia Bhatt is headlining a spy universe film.”

The inclusion of Sharvari Wagh alongside Alia further solidifies the film's star power.

Yash Raj Films has established a formidable Spy Universe, with previous entries featuring stars like Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone. Katrina played Zoya, an ISI agent, in the popular "Tiger" franchise, while Deepika portrayed Rubina, an ISI spy, in Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan." Recently, Kiara Advani joined the Spy Universe, set to appear in "War 2" alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
