Actress opens up about alcoholism and feeling suicidal

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt's sister, Shaheen Bhatt, has written a memoir about her battle with depression and the launch event of her book, I've Never Been (Un)happier, happened recently. The event was attended by the entire Bhatt family, including Alia Bhatt, her half-sister Pooja Bhatt, and parents Soni Razdan and Mahesh Bhatt.

Pooja Bhatt, who has always been vocal about her mental health issues and struggle with alcoholism, mentioned that she had contemplated suicide at a certain point in her life. "I was coming back from Goa, from a rave and it was New Year's eve and everyone was feeling great and I was feeling damn low in the middle of all of that and I called him (Mahesh Bhatt) and said I am feeling almost suicidal, I just want to walk into that ocean and never come back, what will be lost of mankind. So then he said if you can say that means you won't do it and then he said do you remember Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. So then it is the problem of the King's horses and King's men to put Humpty Dumpty together again and not yours. Fall apart," Pooja Bhatt has featured in the 1996 romantic comedy film 'Kalloori Vaasal' alongside Ajith, Prashanth, and Devayani.
