Indian celebrities adorned the emerald-hued carpet as the Met Gala 2024 got off, with Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt taking the stage in a stunning floral Sabyasachi saree. She made this her second appearance at the prestigious event, where her grace enthralled spectators.

"It was a tribute to the Garden of Time, celebrating art and eternity," Bhatt said while reflecting on the meaning of her stunning dress while posting photos of it on social media. When asked about the meticulous workmanship, Bhatt said, "This is all hand embroidered, a labour of love lasting 1905 hours and involving 163 experienced workers. Good workmanship lasts."

The Met Gala appearance of Bhatt enthralled both photographers and guests, who hailed her as a style star. She said, thinking back on her decision, "I looked for timeless elegance for the 'Garden Of Time' theme, and a saree is the best example of it. I've never worn one at the Met before; it's a representation of eternal grace."
