Ahead of the 2019 Assembly and General elections, comedian Ali unfriended Pawan Kalyan days after he joined the YSRCP. Power Star said at a public rally that Ali didn't get what he wanted from him and that's why he was ditched by the comedian. Ali then put a straight question to Power Star: "Did I ever ask you for anything?"

The final episode of the ongoing season of 'Alitho Saradaga' is going to feature Ali as the guest, while Suma becomes the interviewer. "What is the reason for the gap between you two?" she asks.

In his reply, Ali says that the gap got created. The promo gives a sense that Ali is going to reveal some unknown aspect of the rift in a frank manner.

In 2020, a year after the rift, Ali commented that he was ready to work with Pawan in films. "If I get an offer, I am ready to act. Politics and films are different. They shouldn't be mixed," Ali said.
