Ali, the famous comedian, has on Monday formally joined the YSRCP. Earlier in the day, he called on Jaganmohan Reddy at the latter's Hyderabad residence. The party supremo embraced Ali, who has dilly-dallied for long about joining either TDP or YSRCP.
Ali made it vehemently clear that he will not contest the elections. "I will only campaign for my party. I want to see Jagan garu as the Chief Minister. The ground situation is such that the people of Andhra Pradesh clearly want him to become the CM," Ali said.
The comedian was wishing for a Guntur One Town ticket from whichever party he joins. It's not known what made him give up the thought only weeks after saying that he intends to contest in the 2019 Assembly elections. Meanwhile, it continues to surprise many that this long-time friend of Pawan Kalyan is not with the Jana Sena.
