We all know how Hindi short films had become a rage in the country once upon a time, especially since mainstream Bollywood actors decided to step in that sphere. Now the rage is of the Web Series. Celluloid is not restricted to movies alone. Actors are now willing to experiment with 35 MM screens too. Being one of the first to start the trend of web series Ali Fazal made this bold move with the YRF web series- Bang Baaja Baraat'.
Other actors like Radhika Apte, Kalki Kochelin, Manoj Bajpai and Raveen Tandon also were seen in various web series. The recent news from the actors end is Ali Fazal will soon be seen in another web series. Ali Fazal, who is currently shooting for Anand Rais production 'Happy Bhag Jayegi' along with Diana Penty and Abhay Deol have kept some dates aside for a rather interesting web project which will be directed by Ayush Raina and produced by Eros. Ali's last stint Bang Baaja Baraat' on the web was a huge success. The actor who played a groom-to-be alongside the very pretty Angira Dhar managed to tickle funny bones through this rom-com.
Confirming the same the actor says, "So the word is out and I thought let's take a break. And when actors say break they mean high adrenaline sport. So came this wonderfully crafted piece of writing my way after my successful stint with Yash Raj. A story based in Goa. On the lines of Goan mafia . I draw parallels with the godfather and Narcos. It fits our Indian scenario and the Goa scene. Goa isn't just about tourism and happy faces. There is a lot of history in there and some of it might be up for exploitation in this series. The roles have been beautifully distributed amongst great actors. Playing a lead in a madcap 10 episodic series is a heavy graph to maintain. So we went into a lot of prep for it. My director is my guru, and I look forward to joining the crew back after I wrap Anand Rai's film."
From the sound of the whole concept, it looks like we will be getting to see the young actress in a brand new avatar.
