The Hindi remake of 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo', titled 'Shehzada', has reportedly flopped in Hindi. It hit the screens last Friday.
As per box-office reports, the Kartik Aryan starrer netted Rs. 20 Cr in India in the first weekend. Although it can't be described as a biting-the-dust phenomenon, this is still a half-decent figure.
These days, Bollywood films are not performing up to the mark if the 'word of mouth' is negative. And Kartik is no superstar like Allu Arjun. Given these limitations, the trade performance of 'Shehzada' is not dismal at all.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Aman Gill, and the hero himself along with Tollywood makers Allu Aravind and S Radha Krishna, the film is said to have been made in a budget-wise manner. Theatrical and non-theatrical revenues must be adequate to break even for the producers. The Telugu original was produced by Haarika & Hassine Creations and Geetha Arts, both who joined the Bollywood producers in remaking the movie. The film is expected to do extremely well on OTT.
