After a relatively sober beginning to 2011 with 'Patiala House' being his first release, Akshay Kumar is now back with what he has been advocating for last few years - doing a comedy. Though he did win appreciation from all quarters for his toned down performance in 'Patiala House', Akshay is now confident that with 'Thank You', he would have the box office jingling all over again due to it's immense commercial appeal.

"'Patiala House' was personally and professionally a very special dream orientated family drama. On the other hand though there is ‘Thank You’ which is a classic commercial comedy made for India’s masses. So get set for some fun times ahead", says Akshay.

Akshay Kumar also believes that the year of hardcore entertainment begins 'now' with 'Thank You'.

"Yes, you could say that," says Akshay, "You see, ‘Patiala House’ was not commercial entertainment. It was a heart warming experience though, both for audience and especially me. So yes, the tears of joy from 'Patiala House' have stopped and the tears of laughter are about to start rolling with 'Thank You' for sure."

Since Akshay is sounding quite confident around the commercial prospects of the film, can one say that 'Thank You' appears to be one of those films which come with the guarantee of finding a huge audience for itself?

"The thing is that you can never tell what the audience has in store for ‘us’," says Akshay after a brief pause, "You would think it’s 'us' who should be doing all the talking but honestly the audience can throw a googly at you at any time. So yet again I sit here and pray for acceptance though I can tell you that you are gonna love this one."
