Akshay says Netagiri is Bullshit
- IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,July 01 2010]
Politicians donÂt know to rock and roll, our dear Khiladi turned entertainer Kumar, Akshay is not only humming this number sung by Remo but he is really rattled by the false promises by our netas and has become the first singing tribute to the ultimate Âkrantiveer of Bollywood apna Nana Patekar.
Akki hates the corrupts politicians and he has developed a unique way to express his protest, the superstar has recently shot a song Âbullshit aimed at corrupt politicians and it pokes fun at them. It trails the existing state of affairs with respect to shoddy construction work, slow proceedings and traffic woes.
Well, we know you are wondering why Akshay the karate kid from Shanghai with third degree black chose to sing rather then giving a flying kick to our corrupt netas? Well as doctor orders, Akshay is doing exactly what his favourite director Priyadarshan has asked him to do.
In their forthcoming ÂKhatta Meetha AkshayÂs character Sachin Tichkule starts coughing while listening to a politicianÂs speech and when questioned, says that he is allergic to bullshit. When the netas deliver speeches, making empty assurances, Akshay says ÂI don't like bullshit!Â
According to director Priyadarshan, he wanted to use the word ÂBullshit as its more hard hitting then other words like ÂBakwaas or ÂRubbish and the icing on the cake being that the Censor Board cannot delete the word as it is used in the dictionary.
The song was added after a lot of contemplation and was conceptualized by Akshay. On seeing the first rushes of the film, Priyadarshan and Akshay realized that the movie needed a song that would justify the overall premise of the movie. That's how 'Bullshit' came about. It's a daring and controversial song and has been choreographed by Ganesh Acharya who calls it a Âsong with a message.Â
Priyadarshan is not worried about the hostile responses that the song may generate from the politicians. According to him, the song is just a reflection of the actual state of affairs. Well, the song is bound to be a success since it echoes common sentiment! So Netas Beware .
