Famous Bollywood star Akshay Kumar's upcoming film is postponed to a new date. Akshay, who was last seen in the OTT release Laxmii, has now planned to release his upcoming crime thriller 'Bellbottom' in theaters. This project is helmed by Ranjit M Tewari, produced by Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.

Bell Bottom also stars Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Huma Qureshi in pivotal roles. Akshay Kumar features as a RAW agent in this espionage thriller. The motion poster with the new release date claims that the plot is "inspired from true events."

Many fans doubted that whether Bell Bottom is the remake of a Kannada movie with the same name. But Akshay put an end card to the rumours by denying the speculation and stated that this spy thriller is an original screenplay inspired by true events through a tweet.

Bell Bottom was originally supposed to release on the silver screens on May 28 but it got postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. Then, the makers zeroed in on July 27. But still many states haven't recovered from the severity of 2nd wave and kept the cinema halls shut. So the makers pushed the release once again to the new date - August 19.
