Yesterday, it was reported that actor Akshay Kumar has contracted the Covid-19 virus and he has quarantined himself in his home. He also urged people around him to get themselves tested. However, the latest update on the matter is that the actor has been hospitalized. There hasn't been an official confirmation but reports suggest that Akshay was admitted into Hiranandani Hospital in Powai at around 5 pm yesterday.

Akshay's official statement on instagram read, "I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon!”

The actor recently started filming for his much anticipated film, 'Ram Setu' with Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. However, due to these unforseen events, the shoot of the film has been delayed for at least 15 days.
