After 'Baby', it is an Akshay Kumar film again that has managed to bring audience in theaters and brought a smile back on the face of exhibitors and distributors. If the weekend was quite good for 'Gabbar Is Back' with constant escalation on every passing day, the weekdays were stable too with collections continuing to pour. The film had a healthy Monday as well due to partial holiday in some parts of the country. Though there were some drops visible on Wednesday and Thursday, it was expected and not alarming since single screens in particular were holding really well. As a result, the first week ended around a healthy 60 crore mark.

The film enters the second week with an opportunity to score further since the start has been good and word of mouth positive as well. Moreover, 'Piku' is primarily for multiplexes while 'Kuch Kuch Locha Hai', a massy affair, has its own target audience which won't cut much into Gabbar Is Back. The Krish directed film has got good number of shows in the second week as well which should work in its favor.

'Gabbar Is Back' is currently going neck to neck with Baby which had managed 64 crore in its first week but it was an extended one with eight days due to its Republic Day release. The Neeraj Pandey starrer had managed to cross the 95 crore mark and all eyes are now on Gabbar Is Back to hit the 100 crore mark. Obviously, a good run in the second week with a steady third weekend would hold the key.

As for the other release Sabki Bajegi Band, it was a non-starter and didn't find traction whatsoever. The film is out from most centers in the second week.
