Suriya and Sudha Kongara in 2020 delivered 'Soorarai Pottru', a struggling underdog story of an Air Force officer starting an affordable flight service for his people. Despite a direct OTT release amid corona, this acclaimed film went on to bag five National Awards including Best Actor and Best Tamil Film.
The actor and director reunited in 2022 for the Hindi remake of 'Soorarai Pottru'. Sudha Kongara has been directing Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan in the remake, bankrolled by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. After several days, the movie is finally ready for release. Akshay Kumar unveiled the film's title and release date today with the first promo.
The 'Soorarai Pottru' Hindi remake is officially titled 'Sarfira'. The 45-second promo shows Akshay Kumar reprising Suriya from the original. The much-awaited movie is coming to cinemas on 12th July 2024. Suriya has made a cameo appearance in 'Sarfira'. On the other hand, Suriya and Sudha Kongara are reunited in 'Suriya 43'.
