Even after wrapping up around half a dozen films since last year's lockdown, Akshay Kumar is showing no signs of stopping. His next film titled 'Raksha Bandhan' went on floors on Monday. Akshay will share screen with Bhumi Pednekar in this Anand L Rai film and actresses Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth will play Akshay's sisters in the film.
As it is evident by the name, the film is centered around the theme of brother-sister love. It was announced last year on the ocassion of Rakshabandhan but it took quite a while for it to go on floors. Film was originally scheduled to release by November 2021 but the pandemic and Akshay's other commitments delayed the project. Akshay had said, “Raksha Bandhan is a special film for all of us, rarely are such pure and simple films made. Can’t wait to begin filming for this one!”
Sharing a picture from the sets of 'Raksha Bandhan' on Monday, Akshay Kumar wrote on Twitter, "Growing up my sister, Alka was my first friend. It was the most effortless friendship. @aanandlrai’s #RakshaBandhan is a dedication to her and a celebration of that special bond ♥️. Day one of shoot today, need your love and best wishes."
