Apart from being a as amazing and hardworking actor, Akshay Kumar is also known for his philanthropic nature. He recently came forward to help people battling with the second wave of the pandemic. The actor donated a sum of 1 crore rupees to former cricketer Gautam Gambhir's charity foundation to arrange for meals, medical supplies and such. Gautam acknowledged this in a tweet where he thanked the actor for his help.

Gautam wrote, "Every help in this gloom comes as a ray of hope. Thanks a lot @akshaykumar for committing Rs 1 crore to #GGF for food, meds and oxygen for the needy! God bless." Akshay also responded to Gambhir's gratitude and replied, "These are really tough times, @GautamGambhir. Glad I could help. Wish we all get out of this crisis soon. Stay Safe.”

Fans applauded Akshay for his kind gesture as soon as the news broke out. One of his fans wrote, "I hope other people will take inspiration from Akshay Kumar and help people." Akshay himself recently recovered from the virus after being hospitalized briefly. He is currently awaiting the release of his several films like 'Sooryavanshi', 'Prithviraj' etc
