The actor reported to have been allegedly threatened by a gangster over the phone few days ago. According to a crime branch official, the gangster, introduced as Ravi Pujari, called Akshay and gave death threats by adding that he had made grave mistake by sacking a domestic help from his house.

Incidentally, the actor had indeed removed a servant from service owing to reasons best known to him.

Following the growing underworld threats being received by Bollywood celebrities in recent times - including Karan Johar, Ram Gopal Verma, Boney Kapoor and Sonu Nigam – Mumbai Police Chief Satyapal Singh has planned to hold a meeting for the industry fraternity to boost up confidence level to handle such troubled situations. He stated that Bollywood personalities shouldn’t worry with such calls and police are with them.
