Since it is a action franchise, Akshay Kumar was rumored to be the star of 'Dhoom 4'.

Recently, he responded to these reports and called them bogus. He said, "As for the Dhoom 4 speculation, I have two words for you, FAKE NEWS." A viral tweet claimed that Akshay has been confirmed as the lead of 'Dhoom 4' but it turns out that the rumor started with a fan made poster.

So far in the series, three different actors, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan have portrayed the theives while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra have portrayed the cops who take thieves down.
