During the promotion of his recently released film 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect', actor R Madhavan stated that good films take atleast a year or two to get made, they can't be produced within 3-4 months. Media and fans quickly assumed that this was an indirect dig on actor Akshay Kumar who is known to wrap up his films in 40-45 days.
During a recent promotional event for his upcoming film 'Raksha Bandhan', Akshay Kumar addressed this issue and stated that he can't help the fact that his films take so little time to produce. He stated, "Kya kehna chahunga? Bhai meri filmein khatam ho jaati hain main kya karoon? Main is mien thode hi kuch…meri filmein khatam ho jaati hain. Ek director aata hai kehta hai bhaiya aapka kaam khatam aap ghar jaaiye. Toh ab main ussey ladoon?"
Since Akshay usually puts in long hours of work and usually sticks to characters which don't require him to undergo specific preparations, he is able to wrap his films faster than his fellow actors. Also it is evident by his recent performances that he doesn't really go deep into his characters and plays more or less similar roles in all his projects which is why the filmmaking process is mentally less tiring for him.
