It won't be an exaggeration to state that pandemic turned the whole world upside down in 2020. However, actor Akshay Kumar's career was largely unaffected by it since he managed to work on projects whenever the situation allowed him to and without waiting for theatres to open, he released his movie on the OTT platforms. As of now, Akshay has around half a dozen films lined up for release in 2022 and they have the potential to earn around 2000 crore rupees.

Akshay was quite amused by this estimation and said, “Wow, you worked out the maths quicker than I did! I’m very proud of this kind of projection and I think it’s testament to the fact that genres, stories and characters are always king."

He concluded by saying, "Whilst I’m excited for what should be an incredible 2022, I think if these past two years have taught us anything it’s that nothing is bankable. Let’s see how the cookie crumbles and maybe we can have this same discussion about box office figures this time next year?"
