Akshay Kumar had the opportunity to interview Prime Minister Narendra Modi even as the third phase of polling was happening on Tuesday. The Bollywood actor, who asked the PM mostly apolitical questions, described the interview as a "breather".
Speaking to the 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' and 'Gold' actor, Modi said that him landing even an ordinary job would have given ultimate joy to his mother. "Given my background, I could never have dreamed of becoming the PM," he said.
The BJP supremo added that the values of the Ramakrishna Mission inspired him as an adult. He also spoke highly of soldiers.
Talking about his mother, Modi said that she loves to spend her time in her village, which is why she has not lived with her son even after he became the CM of Gujarat.
"Since I have been on my own since teen days, I have been detached towards things," Modi said.
Modi revealed that Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad is a good friend. His arch-rival from the TMC, Mamata Banerjee, often sends him sweets, Modi added.
