'Laxmmi Bomb' is the biggest Indian film to directly hit the OTT. Bypassing theatrical release, the horror-comedy recently struck a deal with Disney+Hotstar.

The news is that the Akshay Kumar-starrer, written and directed by Raghava Lawrence, will premier from November 9. The much-awaited entertainer, in which Akshay plays a transgender person, is an official remake of the 2011 Telugu blockbuster 'Kanchana'.

"Iss Diwali aap sabke gharon mein laxmmi hi laxmmi hogi! Aa rahe hai hum, Diwali ka sabse bada bomb le ke 9th November ko!" the streaming platform thundered on Wednesday.

The announcement comes amid talk that theatres will be reopened from October 1. It seems the makers of 'Laxmmi Bomb' are not confident about audiences flocking cinema halls anytime soon. To be sure, this deal was clinched about two months ago.
