Superstar Akshay Kumar is currently gearing up for the release of his period drama 'Prithviraj' where he'll be seen portraying the legendary warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan. It is well known that filming a costume drama is never easy and it gets even more tough, if the project involves action and war sequences. In a recent media interaction, Akshay revealed how hectic it was to film war sequences for 'Prithviraj' amidst intense heat.

The actor told IANS, "It was really tough to pull off these elaborate war sequences, wearing heavy armour in the sweltering heat but I knew that these scenes will look spectacular on the big screen and add to the extravaganza ‘Prithviraj’ is a film that’s high on patriotism, given the valour and sacrifice of the mighty king.”

He further added, “It needed to be presented in a way that will make people gasp with excitement and I think we have achieved it. I’m proud of how ‘Prithviraj’ has shaped up and hopefully it will entertain people thoroughly."

Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and starring Manushi Chhillar and Sonu Sood, 'Prithviraj' is going to release theatrically on 3rd of June.
