Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn & others extend support to Mumbai Police

Film industry is not for entertainment alone. Recently at a press meet, it was proved that our B-Town celebrities are also for some serious work and also has concern for society.

The Commissioner of Police Satyapal Singh organized police, film and television industry interface program with the objective of making cinema, television and small screen an instrument of positive social change.

The interaction was also aimed at enhancing image of the police department and also to discuss the grievances concerned with film industry and to strategize a plan to boost the confidence, safety and security.

On Monday, Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh met the well- known film directors and many others from the film fraternity and television industry at RTO in Andheri West.

In an half hour long meeting with them Singh explained how cinema and television could play a positive role, create awareness, influence generations and render valuable support to law enforcing agencies in achieving their objective of maintaining peace and harmony.

Singh also requested the filmmakers to stress on the positive portrayal of the police and give them their share of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Farhan Akhtar and famous film makers and dignitaries of the entertainment industry like Madhur Bhandarkar, Prakash Jha, Rakeyesh Omprakash Mehra, Ashutosh Govarikar, Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan, Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt, Sajid Khan, Satish Kaushik, Rajkumar Hirani, Atul Agnihotri, Nagesh Kukunoor, Bonny Kapoor, Sajid Nadiadwala, Ashoke Pandit, Nitin Chadrakant Desai, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Vikram Gokhale and many more shared their views on the issue.

When there is a crisis in the family, all the family members come together to solve it. In the same manner we have come forward to help the police to curb crime, said Ajay Devgn.

This was another effort towards coming together of the Mumbai Police and the film fraternity to explore ideas ways and means so as to further the cause of safety and security of women and city, said Satyapal Singh while addressing the press.
