Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar's 'Padman' directed by R. Balki will be hitting the screens on January 26, 2018. The release date ha been officially confirmed by the makers. This has raised speculations that Superstar Rajinikanth's '2.0' in which Akshay is playing the lead antagonist may not release as scheduled on January 25, 2018 since it is impossible to have two films of a Pan Indian star releasing on the same day.

As we all know '2.0' despite being primarily made in Tamil language, it will be a pan Indian film and it will be simultaneously released in multiple languages including Hindi. The film has a huge expectation among Tamil as well as Hindi speaking audience. So it is impossible to release '2.0' along with another film starring Akshay Kumar.

Sources reveal that the makers are planning to release '2.0' for the Tamil New Year weekend in April 2018 which will also coincide with summer holidays. The postponement is due to the extent of CG works required to be completed for the film.

We will have to wait for an official confirmation from Lyca Productions which is bankrolling the film on a huge budget of around Rs.350 crore.
