After headlining 5 flop movies this year, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has decided to make his Marathi film debut. He is going to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in a film titled 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat'. However, fans are of the opinion that Akshay is not going to be a good choice for portraying such an iconic and demanding character since he is notorious for giving the bare minimum effort in his work.
Recently, he shared a clip of himself walking in the getup of Shivaji Maharaj and the response of netizens to it was largely negative. Most of them pointed out the lack of charisma and some also compared him to actor Sharad Kelkar, who brilliantly played Shivaji in 'Tanhaji'.
One of them wrote, "Both movie and character will be ruined by Akshay Kumar. Another flop movie will added in this flop account.” The other stated, “No it will be an insult to our King Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj if Akshay plays his role! This guy Ak didn’t even grew a moustache for the movie Samrat Pruthviraj Chauhan and completed the movie within 40days with no emotions & ave acting! We dn’t wnt him to repeat it again and disrespect our King ??."
Earlier this year, Akshay also starred as legendary warrior king Prithiviraj Chauhan and fans found his performance quite dull and slammed him for not preparing properly for the part.
