‘Akshate’ starring Raaj, Karthik and Mythria Gowda is said to be having shades of recently dead IAS officer DK Ravi real life. Raju Devasandra is taking on debut direction for his story, screenplay and dialogues. He wanted to keep the title ‘Madhuve’ (marriage) for his film. Already a film in that name has come in Kannada compelled him to select ‘Akshate’. The protagonist is district commissioner. He faces lot of hardship in his service. Director Deva Sandra claims that the film is having any relation to real life happenings. I have prepared story eight months ago he says. He is shooting in Bengaluru, KGF and other locales.
Karthik Shetty is back after a long gap. Raj Soorya earlier Raj in ‘Sanchari’ and ‘Jatayu’ Kannada cinema is a cop in the film. Mythria Gowda is the daughter of village chieftain in the film. V Manohar is music composer, Sanjeevi Shetty of Kundapura is producer of this film. Lion S Venkatesh is co producer.
The film has message on the corrupt bureaucrats who become puppets under politicians.
