Akshara Haasan: 'I Didn't Convert to Buddhism'!

Akshara Haasan was in middle of a huge controversy when she tweeted out some pretty convincing quotes of Buddhism and her dad the Kamal Haasan vouched for her change of practice from an atheist to a Buddhist.
However, the actress\photographer claims that she is still an atheist and just a follower of Buddhism and not converting to anything'.
That being said, the actress has recently opened up about her views on religion and atheism.
She says 'I've not changed my religion. I've not got converted to Buddhism, I'm still an atheist. But I'm embracing Buddhism and following its principles of Nirvana. Buddha himself told that he's not God but only showing the path to attain Nirvana. A friend of mine introduced me to this and since then my life got enriched'
Maybe she really just likes to believe in Buddhism and still actively is an atheist. I mean, India is a pretty secular country. You can be anything and say anything.
So, why not?
