Speaking to a national media house, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has hinted that his party will support Mayawati if she were to stand any chance of becoming the Prime Minister after May 23. The SP and BSP have been bitter rivals for decades.
"I want the next PM to be from Uttar Pradesh," Yadav says in the interview. Saying that Modi has caused much damage to the country, the SP supremo refuses to give clear-cut support to Maya.
Mayawati will stand a chance and SP can think of playing a role only if the two parties, between them, get at least 50 seats or so on May 23rd.
If Yadav wants a UPite to be the next PM, Telangana CM KCR wants a south Indian to be one. In the end, will it be a Gujarati who will once again lead the country?
