Akhil Sathyan, son of director Sathyan Anthikad is stepping into filmmaking. The young director has started filming his debut venture that will have Fahadh Faasil in the lead role.
The movie was launched on Friday with an auspicious pooja in Kochi. Author Viji Venkatesh, who plays the pivotal character in the yet-to-be-titled movie officially commenced the shoot by lighting the lamp.

Anjana Jayaprakash of the superhit 'Queen' web series will play the female lead along with actor-dancer Vineeth in an important role. Akhil Sathyan himself has scripted the film. It is reported that the movie will see a bunch of new faces in the supporting cast.

Bankrolled by Sethu Mannarkkad under the banner of Full Moon Cinema, the movie will be filmed in Mumbai and Goa. Sharan Velayudhan will be the cinematographer and Justin Varghese will be handling the music department.

In the past, Akhil has assisted his father and filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad for the 2018 movie 'Njan Prakashan', that also had Fahadh Faasil in the lead.

Meanwhile, Akhil's twin brother Anoop is prepping up for the release of his maiden directorial venture 'Varane Avashyamund' that is slated to hit screens on February 7. 'Varane Avashyamund' has a stellar cast including Suresh Gopi, Shobana, Dulquer Salmaan, and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles.
