Akhil Akkineni's debut film Akhil is going to be screened in IMAX. Producer Nithiin Reddy has confirmed that the film will have five shows on the big screen. "The film has amazing visual effects made on high standards. The audience will be thrilled to bits watching the special effects on the giant screen. Also, the film is releasing in about 168 theatres in USA. We are hoping that this will live up the hype and become a big hit in our banner."

Interestingly, after Rajamouli and Prabhas's magnum opus Baahubali, Akhil is the only film to have five shows in IMAX.

Directed by VV Vinayak, the film also has Sayesha Saigal as the leading lady. Velugonda Srinivas and Kona Venkat are providing the story and screenplay for this socio-fantasy which is slotted for release on November 11, for Diwali. Anup Rubens and SS Thaman has provided the music.
