Ajith's latest invention turns viral

Thala Ajith, who is fresh from the success of his Pongal release Viswasam directed by Siva, has been trending recently, not because of the blockbuster movie, but due to a drone taxi developed by MIT team Daksha, mentored by the actor. The photos of the drone taxi have gone viral as ardent fans of the actor clicked photos of the prototype placed in the ongoing Global Investors meet.
Reportedly, more than 1500 enquiries have been made on the drone, and several companies have come forward to fund the project, revealed a Aerospace research scientist at MIT.With an ability to carry 90 kgs, the drone can fly for 45 minutes, and with the hovering test completed for 13 minutes, the government permission has been sought for a 30 minutes flight.
The drone can fly at an altitude of 300 meters and makes use of sensors to avoid trees or wires, and will require a 1000 square feet area for take off, said the scientist, adding that drone taxis will be the need of the future to avoid road traffic. Last yer under the guidance of Ajith, the test pilot and UAV system advisor, this Daksha team had secured second spot in UAV medical express challenge held in Australia.
