Thala Ajith surprised everyone by cancelling the shooting schedule in Bulgaria for a day or two and reached Chennai in the early hours of Wednesday (December 7) . While the intended purpose of his visit was to pay the last respects to the much loved Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha he could not do that before the departed leader was laid to rest.

However Ajith visited the burial site at early morning around 4:30 am with his wife Shalini and brother-in-law Richard and paid his tributes.

Now sources reveal the story behind how Ajith made sudden plans to visit Chennai from Bulgaria while many expected that he may not come as he had sent a condolence message in the morning of December 6.

But Ajith was so keen on making a personal visit for the leader he admires most. When he decided to start, there were no direct flights for Chennai. It was 4 am at Bulgaria. He had to travel all the way to Romania and then come to Chennai spending around 20 hours in flight travel and transit.
