This day, four years ago it was the most memorable day of celebrations for fans of Thala` Ajith. Mankatha` the 50th film of the highly talented actor released on August 31, 2011 which was the Ramzan festival day and also the start of a long weekend.

The film assumed importance right from the word go as it was the first time teaming up of Ajith and director Venkat Prabhu who had delivered back to back hits till then and the film also boasted off an ensemble star cast. The trailer of the film that was released just a month before the theatrical release took Ajith fans by storm and it was easily the best ever trailer cut for an Ajith starrer that it was liked even by the fans of other actors. Everyone who watched the trailer could resist commending Ajith for oozing such smartness and style and also the way he uttered the most famous dialogue "this is my……game". The music album of Yuvan Shankar Raja that released along with the trailer had satisfied the audience and especially the special theme music of the film gave goose bumps for every Ajith fan.

When the film released amid roaring expectations in a historical number of theatres people thronged to theatres and they greeted each other saying "Happy Mankatha Day". In the theatres screening the movie in was nothing short of a festival and within the auditorium the whistles and screams were breaking the roofs down. The film apart from having everything that would give a superlative experience for an Ajith fan also turned out to be a fantastic entertainer with loads of action, comedy, romance, glamour, thrill and a OMG kind of twist at the end. Everyone loved Ajith in the film as he played his age of a 40 year old, sported his natural salt and pepper look throughout the film and portrayed the role of an unrelenting baddie who would do anything for money to perfection.

Mankatha` stands as one of the most successful and most gratifying film of Ajith`s career.

Indiaglitz readers are requested to share their memories of pre-release anticipation and also the experience of watching the film on screen.
