The shooting of "Thala 56" was kick-started on 7 May after formally being launched with a pooja ceremony on 9 April. The makers want to wrap up the shooting at the earliest as they have set their sights on a Diwali release.
Siruthai Siva and Ajith Kumar are coming back together after their hit film "Veeram". The film is bankrolled by AM Rathnam. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music.
Shruti Haasan plays the female lead with Kabir Singh playing the role of a baddie. Parota Soori provides some comic relief in "Thala 56", which is an urban-centric film
