The Deepavali festival releases 'Vedalam' and 'Thoongavanam' have had a slightly delayed release in The United Arab Emirates, contributing a big chunk of the overseas market for Tamil films. Both the films have released only today that is 12th November 2015 while they opened in all other locations across the globe on November 10, 2015.
'Vedalam' has released in 43 screens in UAE, which is the highest number of screens for an Ajith starrer. This has broken the record created by Ajith's previous film 'Yennai Arindhal'.
'Vedalam' which has evoked mixed reviews from critics has already created a new record in terms of first day box office collections in Tamil Nadu.
