A video of Ajith and his wife Shalini visiting the Apollo hospital in Chennai last year left his fans and several people concerned, especially since they were at the hospital during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, when a lockdown was imposed across the state.
However, it was later clarified that the couple had only visited the hospital for a regular check-up and that there was nothing to be concerned about. Meanwhile, a staff member of the hospital, identified as Farzana, who was responsible for sharing the video on social media, was dismissal as she had apparently violated the management rules. The private hospital refused to give her job back despite persistent requests and apologies from her side.
Farzana reportedly even attempted to contact Ajith and later reached out to the actor's manager Suresh Chandra to help her get her job back. However, there was nothing much Ajith could do as the decision to fire Farzana was taken by the hospital management. After enquiring about her needs with his manager, Ajith then accepted to pay Farzana's daughter's school fees for the next year. Despite the efforts, Farzana reportedly attempted to commit suicide and was immediately rushed to a hospital, where she subsequently recovered after treatment. She later filed a police complaint against Suresh Chandra claiming that he cheated and betrayed her.
Responding to the allegations, Suresh Chandra reportedly informed a news agency, "Actor Ajith was not the reason for Farzana's termination. The hospital management only sacked her after examining the CCTV Camera. Even actor Ajith Kumar came forward to bare the school fee of Farzana's daughter. But instead of letting it to be paid directly to the school management, Farzana wanted the money to be handed over to her. She then lodged a complaint on me and so I stopped talking to her."
Farzana reportedly said that she had lost her livelihood and was left helpless after losing her job. "I expect the Actor to lend me direct help. I merely want a word from Ajith sir," she was quoted as saying.
